EveRooted Beauti is committed to improving the lives of Black people and communities across the United States and around the world. We advocate for change and empower those who need it the most by rooting, amplifying and growing Black-owned businesses within their own communities.

OUR WHY
Co-owners Ellide Smith and Shaunarey Harris-Amos are products of the African proverb, “it takes a village to raise a child”. Rooted-in-Community is their garden in which to give back to the villages that helped shape them and their families. Through community development, they seek to ensure that socioeconomically disadvantaged girls, women, and minorities are afforded unrestricted opportunities for a better quality of life.

HOW?
When you purchase products from EveRooted Beauti, you support our pledge to contribute 10% of all sales to the communities where we - and our customers - live and work. Through donations and volunteering, we commit to community service that aligns with our core values:

• Accessibility: Ensure that all people, without regard to race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender identity, or sexual orientation have equal access to opportunities and resources.
• Affordable: Align monetary and material resources to improve quality of life for the disadvantaged by addressing housing challenges, eliminating food insecurities, improving access to healthcare, and providing educational opportunities.
• Adaptive: Advocate for change and empowerment when and where there is a need through direct contributions and partnerships with local, state, national and international non-profit organizations.
  

WHEN?
Ellide and Shaunarey will conduct quarterly reviews to determine the focus of sales contributions and non-profit partnerships for Rooted-in-Community. Our goal is to align with established campaigns in addition to hosting volunteer opportunities that support seasonal events, major holidays, and monthly recognitions (i.e. back-to-school campaigns, Thanksgiving meals, Domestic Violence Awareness Month, etc.). Future initiatives include education scholarships, grants, and mentorship programs.
